With the holiday season upon us many are scrambling to find family friendly activities to fill the gap between the Christmas dinner and the first day of school in the New Year so we’ve rounded up some of our favourite ways to create memories in Toronto. Toronto is a diverse city with many events and attractions that are family friendly and fun for those of all ages….whether you’re two or twenty-two a smile is guaranteed!
Ripley’s Aquarium : This newly opened interactive attraction is definitely a must visit this holiday season. Kids of all ages will be mesmerized by the Sting Rays, Sharks, Underwater divers and many displays that not only entertain but also educate. There are over 16,000 marine animals to explore, is stroller friendly, and change tables to make it a smooth visit for those with young kids.
Toronto Zoo : The Zoo has welcomed their own little bundle of joy recently!! Swing by to welcome the baby Polar Bear and say hello to Er Shun and Da Mao the Pandas. With over 5000 animals to meet and greet, kids and parents are bound to enjoy the Zoo during the winter as they have indoor pavilions that are fairly stroller friendly. On boxing day there’s half price admission for all who bring a non-perishable food item and there’s a new year’s eve celebration for kids .
Disney on Ice : A full on Disney extravaganza hits Toronto this holiday where Aladdin, Jasmine, Belle, Cinderella, Ariel and many more heart throbbing characters will be charming their way through the production at the Rogers Centre.
Nutcracker High Tea : For those looking to spend a luxurious afternoon with the family, the Shangri-La Toronto offers a family friendly high tea inspired by the Nutcracker Ballet. Sandwiches, scones, over 75 types of tea (including herbal ones for the kids) and decadent desserts are on offer here. Yes they have high chairs!
Peter Pan at Casa Loma : Visit the enchanting Castle and meet Peter Pan, Tinkerbell and Captain Hook as they use music, dance and drama to tell selected parts of the classic tale on select days during the holiday season. The castle is also decked out for the festive season so you’ll be able to catch some holiday lights.
