The Great Hallo-scrooge?

I have admitted it before I’m a bit of a Hallowscrooge.  It can be hard to get into the spirit of the season when your tootsies are freezing or it’s raining or someones sick, but this year that is all going to change!  I was sent a one of these fantastic pirate costumes to test out and I will be doing me very best to get out of the bah humbugs and into the “Arghhh matey!”   Maybe if I am dressed up with the kids, getting out and freezing will be more fun.  If nothing else I get to pretend I am in the movie Pirates of the Caribbean for a few hours. Think I can convince hubby to play the part of Depp?

I chose the Womens Deluxe Pirates Of The Caribbean Angelica Costume to help me find my inner scallywag.  I was impressed with the price and all the accessories that were included in the set and I like that it’s a licensed, official Disney costume.  The costume arrived fairly quickly and was well packaged in a bubble envelope.

I got right down to the business of trying it on and once I figured out which piece was which the transformation took very little time. (Sadly I don’t look as good as the young woman in the picture) I picked out the Large size and it fits my size 9/10 frame very well. The only issue I had is the belt is a little bit too small.  The shirt on the other hand is fantastic!  I may just end up making it a regular part of my wardrobe.  Who says you can’t be a little bit pirate all year-long?

All in all the costume is great and I can’t wait to don it again on Halloween and surprise the kids.  Miss V has seen it and had a good laugh so I imagine the reaction of the rest of the kids will be equally as fun.  Next year I will plan ahead and throw a party for the kids friends and invite parents too.  Less freezing more fun!  Maybe even make it a pot luck and ask everyone to bring finger food. (Get it? Fingers.) I now know that if I am in the market for women’s Halloween costumes all I have to do is head over to wholesalehalloweencostumes.com and I’ll be set.

I would love to know if you dress up with the kids or is Halloween just for them?

I’m not really a dress it up kinda gal, but if I was sent something great I might. That outfit looks great!

Hello Julia, I love Hallowe’en and I think you are going to “knock their socks off” with your costume this year! In the past I dressed up as the witch from Snow White and walked around with an apple in my hand offering it to people with a cackle. I have also dressed up as a Pumpkin Person, wearing what normally people fill with leaves for their front lawn. My favourite and easiest costume is going as a Mummy. All you need to do is wear a white shirt and pants and wrap toilet paper around your body and put circles of dark makeup all around the eyes. Lots of fun! Happy Trick ‘R Treating! Janet :-)

  3. I LOVE dressing up with the kids! I go help at their school party and then out to the neighborhood for trick-or-treating so see all the other costuems (yes, some other parents, too).
Last year I was a ring master (fitting for a mom, right? lol) and this year Olive Oyl…
I’ve never colored my own hair or even had it shorter than shoulder length (and that was over 20 years ago) so a little change in identity is especially fun for me. :)
So, Julia, were you brave enough to post pix? If so, I need an instant replay! I will if YOU will! heehee
