Appetizers for After Midnight

I have been having fun playing with some easy recipes from Life Made Delicious over the holiday season thanks to fantastic specials on cocktail wieners and Pillsbury Crescent rolls and I thought I would share 2 of my favorites with you in case you were looking for something quick and easy to prepare for before or even after the ball drops on New Years Eve.

Baby Pigs in a Blanket: A fun twist on a family favorite.

Mini Pigs in Blankets

1 package Pillsbury Crescent rolls
cocktail wieners

Roll out crescent rolls and cut each triangle into 2 or 3 triangles.  This doesn’t have to be perfect – cut into 2 triangles if you like them doughy or 3 if you don’t.  If you like cheese you can add a bit of grated cheddar at this point.  Place wieners at the wider end of the triangle and roll them up.  Perfection not needed.  Bake at 375 F for 10-12 minutes or until a light golden brown.  Serve along side ketchup, mustard and honey mustard or just pop them in your mouth and enjoy.  Serve warm.

Ham & Cheese Appetizer Pinwheels

Ham and Cheddar Pinwheels

Ham and Cheddar Pinwheels

1 package Pillsbury Crescent rolls
Black Forest Ham (you can use any kind of Ham, but I like this one)
about 1 cup grated medium cheddar
*Honey Mustard

Separate dough into 4 rectangles and seal perforations.  Place ham slices on rectangles.  Spread ham with honey mustard.  Sprinkle with cheese.  Starting at shortest side, roll up each rectangle; press edges to seal.  Cut each roll into 5 slices. Place cut side down on baking sheet lined with Parchment paper.  Bake at 350 F for 13-15 minutes or until golden brown.  Watch these closely near the end, because they can begin to brown quickly. Serve warm.

*To make honey mustard mix approximately 2 tbsp mustard and 1 tbsp honey together to taste in a small bowl.

I would love to hear what your favorite appetizer is.

I just picked them up next to the bacon at Maxi. Not sure if they are a seasonal thing but they were easy to find. I admit I love shrimp rings too. They are a staple on our table over the holidays as well. Thanks for stopping in!
