The Boss Talks Big, But He’s Really A Softy At Heart

When you have 5 kids finding seating that is attractive, durable and comfortable can be a challenge.  Enter Beanbag Boss.  When I first came across the Boss I couldn’t help but admire his good looks, sense of style and the variety of outfits he seemed to be able to carry off. I admit it was love at first sight. Shh don’t tell my husband. I do admit I followed him around on Facebook and Twitter before finally making my move.

When I was asked to review a Beanbag Boss chair it really was a no brainer and I jumped at the chance.  The only difficult part of this job was picking out which of the over 100 colors or patterns to choose from.  I finally settled on the Orchid Nylon Bean Bag Chair because I wanted to add a pop of color to my living room and the orchid goes perfectly with my new drapes.

I placed my order easily and within 3 days Fex Ex was knocking on my door with a huge box that was much lighter than I expected.  I had an interesting time getting the beanbag out of the box, but once I figured out the right shimmy and shake, set up was a breeze.  I do recommend watching the video to see all the different ways to set up the bean bag chair.

My favorite set up is the tear drop and just laying it out on the floor like a giant pillow. In fact when hubby was off hunting I curled up on it with a pillow and a blanket and watched a scary movie. It’s a very comfortable beanbag chair to lay on or sit on.  I will add a caveat that if you are a 35 ish woman with joint issues and extra weight I don’t recommend trying the horsy position as my kids call it.  It’s great for making your kids laugh, but getting out does take some creativity and a little bit of help.  It sure was fun though!

All joking aside the versatility of the Beanbag Boss chair is fantastic.  My kids have not left it alone since it has arrived.  The first day in the interest of sharing they left it as a giant pillow on the floor and all crowded on it to watch TV and play Nintendo.  It is the best seat in the house and they know that vacating it means it’s no longer yours to sit in.  It’s easily big enough for 2 small children to sit on or even an adult and child.  Clean up is very easy because of  the nylon fabric and it’s very good at taking abuse (think running leaps).

The only thing I don’t particularly like is the  grommet installed in one corner of the bag.  The back of the grommet has a sharp edge and is fairly easy to bend.  I have new laminate floors and young kids so I make sure that the grommet is at the upper most point when the bag is set up.  It hasn’t caused any issues, but I worry that at some point it could.  I’m sure that it serves some kind of storage purpose (maybe hanging from a wall), but in every day use I feel it’s unnecessary.  It wouldn’t deter me from buying a Bean Bag Boss, in fact I am working on my husband to convince him we need a second one so the kids can stop playing musical bean bag.  I’m thinking an Off White Sherpa Bean Bag Chair would be perfect for the cold winter months ahead.

I also am looking forward to using this chair as a prop for photographing newborns. It’s size and adjustibility combined with the fact that cleanup is easy makes it perfect for photography.

Beanbag Boss earns my respect and I recommend you check them out for yourself. They are a Canadian company that has been around since 1983 and run strictly as a web based business.  Shipping is available to anywhere within North America and best of all it’s free! They even give you the option of making a wish list, perfect for Christmas, and will email it to those people who are doing the shopping.  Give the Bean Bag Boss a follow on Facebook and on Twitter to keep up with any specials or discounts.

From now until December 31, 2011 use the code Nugglemama-999 for $10 off your Beanbag Boss purchase.  Coupon is good once per order.

I too got a bean bag boss chair and the kids have been on it every single day since. We’re renovating our basement and when it’s done, I’ll be buying another.

Hi Julia – thanks for the excellent review very happy to read about your new found “love” ;)

We have listen and we have re-acted. Going forward our beanbags will no longer have the grommet feature. We thought this would have been a great feature to customers but see and understand the downside as well. Thanks for taking the time to convey this to us.

    Cheers~

I know my kids would go nuts for a bean bag chair. I love that they are Canadian and free shipping just sweetens the deal. Enjoy lounging in that beautiful chair!

  4. Aren’t beanbags a wonderful thing? When Rachel was younger we had one, and yes it was the most lived in chair in the house. Hm, maybe we need one again.
