Launched in 2008 by Kevin Mangaroo RateSupermarket.ca is a one stop site for free, up to date information on the latest personal finance offers, guides, tips and informative articles. Once there you can easily find the latest rates on mortgages, credit cards, insurance and savings plans all presented in a clear easy to navigate layout. They even have an easy to use iPhone app, perfect for when you are on the move. I have actually had this app installed on my iPod touch since it first came out.
During my review of the site I was impressed by how easy it was to find information. I will be renewing my mortgage within the next two years so I headed straight for the LEARN tab, a brand new section of the site, to be make sure I know as much as possible going into my renewal. There is also information geared specifically for the first time home buyer where you can sign up for a series of 14 daily emails that will take you through each step of buying your first home. It’s boot camp for first time home buyers. The LEARN area of the website not only has information on refinancing mortgages and for new buyers, once there you can learn more about credit scores, credit cards and how to get the best mortgage rate.
I will be bookmarking this site and reading all the articles and information so that when my mortgage is comes due I am prepared to get the most from my bank and my mortgage. In fact thanks to all the great information on RateSupermarket.ca I may just switch credit cards and insurance companies as well. I love that I can easily compare rates for all the major credit cards as well as find out which ones offer the best rewards. I love getting rewarded for shopping.
